EFTE – Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene Applications
EFTE is a thermoploastic fluoropolymer resin that is mechanically tough and chemically resistant over a wide thermal range. ETFE is available from a variety of manufacturers. ETFE has an approximate tensile strength of 42 N/mm² (6100 psi), with a working temperature range -300 °F to 300 °F). With a melting Point 520 Deg F and high energy radiation resistance properties, it is widely used for solar applications. It is also widely used in the wire and cable industry as electrical insulation. “Pillows” made from heat sealed ETFE are also used in domed structures as a roof material. ETFE is used in as a liner for piping and tanks.
